Google's Most Asked Question of 2014

Well I was a little surprised and actually quite intrigued to find this out.  And as the first two words in the caption states, Love does matter. It matters enough that people would hope to find the answer to this crazy thing called  love on the internet.

The truth is when you have it you will know, except if you really don't want to know.

The bible sums it up neatly, as I think it provides the most complete definition of love. And no, this is not about religion, but if you have been fortunate to love or be loved, you know its everything mentioned below.

http://i1.wp.com/www.imperfectlyperfectlives.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/10/1-corinthians-13-4-7.jpg

If you want love, then give love,..it starts with you.

Do you agree with this take on the definition of love?

really tells it all, And if you love then you surely know what this passage not only reads but means to you..

  2. I believe that love is the main thing anyone has and really the only thing that matters in the very end.
    Love you take with you.

  3. Love is such a basic human need but unfortunately it is a mystery to most of us! Maybe we just need to quit analyzing and just enjoy.

  4. Well that is a inspirational post, I really like the very first quote.

    2. That is very interesting. I have known the love of a husband and that is something that I really miss since he died. I have known the love of a daughter. She died last month and I miss her so much. I know that is better to be loved than to never know love.

  5. It doesn't surprise me that it was the most asked question....I'm almost 50 years old and I still wonder and ponder the same question. Sad to say, I still don't have a clue!

  6. I believe we don't always allow ourselves to feel love. I think we believe we may not deserve it. There are few people in this world that I have truly felt like they loved me but I think that's my doing and not necessarily that others don't love me.

  7. alot people fear love and all that it brings!i truly believe love is all we have and crave ,its the driving force for mankind!

  8. Nice definitions of love. I still don't know what it is, for myself, never felt it, I think. Still hopeful.

  9. Love should be authentic and be present in every conversation we hold at home, or in the office. It's typically the lesson, and usually part of the solution? Competent individuals typically have an ability to work with one another, and they are a privilege to know & be around thanks to a servant's heart, and.....Love.

  17. How sad that this is the most asked question on google...that people don't know love! I love the Corinthians definition of love!

  18. I find it very interesting that was Google's most asked question! Although, for all I know, I may have googled it myself when I was younger. I absolutely believe this passage is a good summary of what love is. Sadly, I just got divorced but during my marriage I realized that our relationship contained very little of this bible passage. I wish I could find a love that demonstrates these ideals.

  19. Definitely interesting this was the most asked question. I love that piece though, one of my favorites about love by far and so unbelievably true

  32. I can't believe that is the most asked question, but I guess many of us are on a quest to find love. Hawaiians have several different words for love and I think they have it right-love is many different things to all people.

  33. That really surprises me that that's the most asked question. I can appreciate the definition but I dislike the source.

  34. That's one of the classic definitions of love all right. (It was expressed most effectively in A Walk to Remember. Loved the movie!) But in the end love is all things to all people.

  35. I agree with the notion that in order to receive love you must first give it. I believe that love is the willingness to give knowing you may not receive the same.

  36. I'm not surprised that it was google's most asked question in 2014. While I think that the definition of love in Corinthians in a very nice sentiment, I would encourage people to read Kahlil's Gibran's definition of Love in "The Prophet" for a more complete and nuanced take.

  40. Very nice post - I've always liked this verse from Corinthians - It pretty much sums up everything about love

  41. I do believe in this definition for sure but I also believe in a larger meaning. For me, it's looking at the World in the eyes of love too. Not just a romantic type of love but a love and acceptance of people. When I can do that, I'm in a much more positive and happy place. :)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I think it's a great definition of love. Love is what makes the world go 'round and everyone needs love!

  44. I do agree with this definition of love. Giving love makes me feel fulfilled and it lets others know I care for them. It shows other how to love as well, so they can go on to give love. Letting other know that you love them can do amazing things. When someone feels loved and appreciated, they can accomplish things they never felt capable of doing.

  45. While it does surprise me that it was the most asked question on Google, it doesn't surprise me that it's such an important topic because that's really the reason why we are all here, to love, to learn how to love, to love ourselves, to love others, to be loved. There are many different kinds of love, but unconditional love is the highest love of all.

    ReplyDelete
  46. What is Love? I am surprised that that was the #1 question asked. I hope everyone gets to experience true love. Loving yourself is the most important one of all.

  68. Love cannot really be defined, as the vocabulary to define it doesn*t exist. The closest I*ve heard is that the happiness of the other person is more important than your own. It*s the closest I*ve come to answering that question.

  69. Love is such a large concept that encapsulates so much that I think we have a hard time wrapping our heads around it. We just need to simplify it, that love is everywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Love is such a loose term and used for so many different things it is hard to give it a definite definition. Love is a strong emotion overall.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Yes, I believe the verses quoted from 1 Corinthians do encompass most of what love is ... concerning a fellow human. Although, concerning love for God, I might add an additional scripture which many people do not know about: 1 John 5:19 - "This is what the love of God means, that we obey his commandments." So indeed, not unlike chapter 13 in the first letter to the Corinthians, love is not just a feeling, but involves action and obedience.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I personally don´t buy into the Bible much at all so I am actually shocked that this was the most discussed thing on Google in 2014. That being said, love is a commitment. Feelings come and go, but a commitment lasts for ever. When you leave your dirty socks on my floor, I might not FEEL love, but the commitment of love is still there.

Love between a parent and child is completely different than love between spouses. That love is a feeling and it begins at conception and nothing breaks it, ever. It is the strongest love and feeling a person can experience. It singularly brings the most joy while having the capacity to break your heart in more pieces than is possible to imagine. It is amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I don't think I'm terribly surprised thats the most asked question of 2014. I know after every broken heart and every new relation I always question what love is. 1st Corinthians describes love perfectly!

  110. For me, I think one of the best summaries of love is wanting the best for someone, whether you like them or not. I'm not referring to romantic "love", which I personally find to be one of the applications of the term that carries the least strength... but to a purer love, which is love of fellow sentient beings.

  117. I agree that if both partners would give love to the other they would always be getting it back. Relationships would last longer and the rate of divorce would go down. People go into a relationship nowadays thinking there is always a way out if they don't get along but of they went into it thiking " I want this to work and I am willing to sacrifice a few things that aren't even important to make it work" things would be so much better. Love is patient and kind and understanding. If you truelly love someone you will want to make them happy and will be happy in return.

but is it really true ?! ...
i mean everybody's definition of love is different from the other ...
maybe that's why all these people hoped that uncle Google has a better and final answer xD ...

    ReplyDelete
  123. I think that Love isn't can something you can limit to words. It means different for everyone and that's great, not everyone needs or wants the same type of love as everyone else. I think the better question we can ask is "what is love TO YOU?" so we would know what the person we care about wants and needs, as well as answer the same to ourselves so others know what we expect.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I cannot say I am surprised the most popular question was, "What is Love?". There are hints people contemplated about what love is throughout history, just look at the mythology and true stories around the world. In the bible, the earliest record of love is in Genesis with Adam and Eve. Many of our well-loved fables have an element of love integrated in the words. I believe love is a label created as an attempt to generalize the complexity of emotions people feel associated with it.

  145. Can you love and be loved? Do you have to love Tao be loved? And to try and explain what love is well I don't believe there is a universal answer... Everyone will have their own perception on such a huge conceit as love, based on their life experiences.
I used to believe that there was ONE soulmaye here for each of us.... With age and experience i don't think that anymore. It is a beautiful notion but I believe that we can have many soulmates in one lifetime. Love for me changed when I had my son I know know the word love in its truest and purest form.... Now THAT'S beautiful :)
